It's officially Spring time in the mountains! The birds are singing a sweet melody as the purple wildflowers begin to blossom. We had such a wonderful time on our short trip out west. We met so many wonderful people out in Colorado and all along the way and can't wait for our next trip to the Rocky Mountains in July! For now, we are hard at work preparing for a busy Spring full of exciting shows and fun festivals! Speaking of Colorado, we are very proud to announce that on Sunday April 24th, we will be performing with Trout Steak Revival at the Asheville Music Hall. Trout Steak is an awesome band out of Colorado and the winners of the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Band Competition. We had a chance to see them at the Boulder Theater while we were out there and they sounded great! Here's a link to the event: http://ashevillemusichall.com/music-schedule/trout-steak-revival-2/ Next, we will make our way up to Wilkesboro, North Carolina for one of the most exciting bluegrass festivals in the country, Merlefest!! Merlefest was started by one of bluegrass music's most influential musicians, Doc Watson, in memory of his son Merle. We are honored and thrilled to be a part of this lineup. We will be competing in an invite only band competition with an opportunity to perform on the main stage Saturday night! Come check us out on the Plaza Stage Saturday, April 30th!! A couple months ago, I woke up like any normal day, grabbed my phone and checked my e-mails. A message from a familiar name appeared in my inbox and I assumed it was merely coincidence. Sure enough, I opened it up to find an e-mail from none other than Travis Book, the bass player and vocalist for the Infamous Stringdusters! The Stringdusters are one of Fireside's favorite bands, and we consider them to be one of our biggest influences. You could imagine we were a little excited. Travis asked us to be a part of an awesome event he is hosting throughout the southeast called "Bluegrass, Bikes, and Beer." Travis will kick the night off, then Fireside will play a set. After that, we will play a set with Travis, and then we'll close the night out with one more set. The event is raising money for local trails and we couldn't be more excited to share the stage with Travis at Oskar Blues on Friday, May 13th!!!! In addition to these awesome performances, we will be touring through the Carolinas where we'll visit some of our favorite towns! Here's a list of some of our upcoming shows:
