IBMA is a weeklong musical frenzy of epic proportions, taking over a whole city and bringing people together in the spirit of bluegrass. We think this year’s was the best yet!
We kicked off the week in style with Jim Lauderdale at the Governor’s Mansion, had a few awesome showcases, played the streefest and made the news on WRAL TV, and sold out the Pour House! Oh, and we happened to meet Jon Fishman of Phish so ya we feel pretty darn good right now...
Thanks to International Bluegrass Music Association, World of Bluegrass, PineCone - Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, and the city of Raleigh for all their hard work!!
We also had the opportunity to chat with journalist Derek Halsey for an article featured on Grammy.com! Derek sat down with Jesse for a quick chat after a packed performance at the City Plaza stage early Friday evening.

"She Was an Angel’ is a song about losing someone you love and seeing them fall into a bad crowd. On the surface, it deals with the emotional repercussions of watching someone sliding down a troubled path. It also explores the feelings of being rejected and left behind, while also hoping for some intervention or circumstance where the one who’s leaving realizes they are on a dark path and turns it around. The music begins as a contemporary bluegrass song which takes a sudden journey into unknown territory during the bridge. The bridge is supposed to serve as the symbolic struggle of the lost lover, and eventually culminates in the realization that it’s time to move on.” — Jesse Iaquinto, vocalist and mandolinist

Wow!! What a year it has been so far! We've recorded our new album, toured with Yonder Mountain String Band, and begun a new journey with New Frontier Touring. We also managed to raise over $20,000 through our crowdfunding campaign and we couldn't be more grateful. Thank you so much for all the love you have shown us, we are looking forward to another amazing festival season!
It sure was amazing sharing the stage with Yonder Mountain String Band after being fans of their music for so many years. We performed in an array of great venues from Minneapolis to Chicago, and all across the midwest and northeast. Thank you to all the new fans and old friends who came out to support us on this epic run!
We're also excited to be working with New Frontier Touring out of Nashville, TN. They will be handling our booking from here on out and it's been great working with our agent John Everheart so far. They are well known throughout the entire country and we are grateful for their knowledge and expertise. We look forward to taking our tour schedule to a whole new level. If you'd like to get in touch with John, head over to our contact page or click HERE!
We've got so much on the horizon this year including the release of our new album. We spent a lot of time preparing and recording this album and we can't wait to get this music to you. Our producer Travis Book, from the Infamous Stringdusters, helped guide us through this journey alongside the fabulous folks at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville. We will be releasing late this Summer/early Fall so be on the lookout for those release dates. For all of our tour dates, head on over to the tour page or simply click HERE!
Thanks again for all the love you've shown us! We literally could not do this without the support we've received from so many throughout the years. We hope to see you on the road this summer and we look forward to continuing to burn up the road and share our original music with you. Much love to you all!!
